Medic Class Guide for The Lost Front

Unlock at level 5, bandage the push, and turn trench stacks into capture wins.

Medic Class Guide

Medic is the first unlock that multiplies everyone else’s aim. At level 5 you stop being only another Assault body and become the reason contested checkpoints actually stick. This guide covers the unlock, how bandages and healing feed both survival and XP, where to stand in the trenches (especially near B), loadout ideas including RPK and KS-23 energy, and when to swap back to Assault. Cross-link it with How to Level Up Fast while you climb and with Capture Checkpoints so your heals happen on the objective—not in a useless backline.

The Lost Front remains in active development. Class feel can shift after patches, so recheck Updates and the Type Productions Discord (https://discord.gg/w4y6e2pvJZ). Permanent cheat bans still apply; support players who boost unfairly get the same hammer as rage hackers.

Unlocking Medic at level 5

You begin every account on Assault. Play objective-heavy matches—kills plus captures are the main XP engines—until level 5. VIP’s +100% XP from Game Passes shortens the wait but is optional. New players should finish Getting Started and Controls so movement, reload, and stop-to-shoot accuracy are already habit before you add heal timing.

Why rush Medic early?

  • Living teammates hold A/B/C longer.
  • Healing itself contributes progression while you stay near XP events.
  • You learn the map’s danger pockets while playing a role that forgives slightly slower duel skills.

After Medic, keep climbing toward Marksman at 10 and Drone Operator at 16. Machine Gunner arrives later (community reports often cite roughly levels 24–26—note the uncertainty). Medic remains useful the entire climb because stacks always need sustain.

Bandages, heals, and XP

Medic’s identity is keeping the push upright. Practical habits:

  1. Heal between peeks, not in the open doorway. Duck to a trench lip or ruin corner, apply bandages, then re-contest.
  2. Prioritize players already on the point. A full-HP teammate off the map edge matters less than a wounded Assault ticking capture progress.
  3. Track your own HP. Dead Medics give zero bandages—disengage before ego-challenging a Marksman across open grass.
  4. Combine heals with captures. Standing on the zone while topping people off stacks objective XP and heal XP in one life.

Healing is why Medic appears in every serious How to Level Up Fast route. You are not “throwing frags” by supporting; you are converting team presence into rank progress and round wins.

Trench support near B

Mid-map B is where Medic shines. Contested B draws Assault entries, Marksman crossfires, and occasional drone dives. Your job:

  • Pocket one trench back from the hottest doorway so you can see green teammate outlines and react without eating the first spray.
  • Call or ping when you need the stack to briefly fall to hard cover for a mass heal.
  • Watch flank grass lines—Medics who only stare forward get deleted by wraps explained on the Map & Battlefield Guide.
  • After a successful flip, stay as the guard healer for a few seconds while Assault rotates, then move with them.

Avoid two failure modes: hiding so far back that heals never land, and standing on the exact capture pixel as the only body so the first nade deletes the entire medic economy.

Loadout ideas: RPK, KS-23, and flexible rifles

Medic still shoots. Community showcases and armory chatter highlight support-friendly pressure tools:

  • RPK-style LMG energy — sustained suppression while teammates bandage or plant. Great for holding a trench mouth after a heal cycle.
  • KS-23 — brutal close ruin and doorway defense when enemies flood B. Pair with disciplined positioning; it is not a long-grass sniper.
  • Standard rifles (AKS-74, AKM, AS-VAL) — perfectly valid. See Weapons and Weapon Tier List for credit costs and roles.
  • Explosives — light utility only; you are more valuable alive with bandages than dead after a greed RPG peek.

Attachment experimentation after the mega-update (optics, grips, and more) belongs in Attachments & New Weapons. For ready-made pairings, skim Best Loadouts and the Class Tier List.

Remember stop-to-shoot accuracy and the green outline rule: no friendly fire means sprays are safer socially, but outline reading still prevents wasted mag dumps into allies during chaotic B piles.

Medic vs Assault — when to swap

Assault teaches you to take space. Medic teaches you to keep space. Ranked-feeling lobbies need both. Many grinders alternate: two Assault captures, one Medic sustain match, repeat—see Level Up Fast.

Surviving drones, Marksmen, and Machine Gunners

  • Versus drones — do not shoulder-stack on B; spread one trench apart, listen, and force the pilot into predictable air (Drone Operator counters).
  • Versus Marksmen — heal behind true cover, not grass silhouettes; re-peek wide.
  • Versus Machine Gunners — wait for Assault distraction or nade pressure before crossing their lane; your bandages cannot outheal a beam if you facetank open mud.

Survival tips in the page embed reward players who treat Medic as an active role—repositioning, pre-aiming, and only then healing—not as a static pack mule.

Session plan for new Medics

  1. Confirm keybinds on Controls.
  2. Warm up one Assault match to read today’s A/B/C pressure.
  3. Switch Medic and spend an entire match living on B rotations.
  4. Count how many heals landed on players actually touching the point.
  5. Adjust gun choice via Weapons / Best Loadouts.
  6. Climb toward Marksman 10 and drones 16 without abandoning Medic when the squad needs sustain.

Heal with intent, shoot when you must, and make every bandage buy another second on the checkpoint.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for The Lost Front players.

When do you unlock Medic in The Lost Front?

Medic unlocks at level 5. Play Assault with kills and captures until then; VIP’s XP boost is optional.

Does healing help you level up?

Yes. Medic heals contribute progression while you stay near objectives, which is why support play appears in leveling guides.

Where should Medics play on the map?

Pocket behind the fight near contested B, heal in cover, then rejoin the point. Avoid useless backline camping and suicidal doorway standing.

What guns work well on Medic?

RPK-style suppression and KS-23 close defense are popular community picks. AKS-74, AKM, and AS-VAL remain solid flexible choices.

Should I main Medic instead of Assault?

Swap based on the lobby. Choose Medic when teammates need sustain on points; choose Assault when nobody is taking space.

How does Medic fit the later unlock path?

After level 5, keep climbing to Marksman at 10 and Drone Operator at 16. Medic stays useful whenever capture stacks need healing.
